PEKAES (Poland) on the path to new investments, a new terminal opens in Legnica

Since the beginning of 2019, PEKAES, your Pangea Partner in Poland and a top logistics operator, has added modern terminals in Białystok, Bydgoszcz and Kielce to its infrastructure. Today, customers can also start taking advantage of a new facility in Legnica. On the strength of growing demand for transport and transhipment services, PEKAES has been expanding its distribution terminals and is currently planning a further enlargement of its branch network.

PEKAES is constantly increasing its distribution network infrastructure development spending. In recent years the company opened modern terminals in Łódź, Sosnowiec, Rzeszów, Kraków, Poznań, Gdynia and Zielona Góra. Further facilities entered use in 2019, including a new PEKAES terminal in Legnica at ul. Boiskowa 7.

“Legnica is the next stage of PEKAES investments in modern terminal facilities delivering even greater transhipment and distribution capacity for our domestic network. Our chosen investment path also entails expanding our current facilities. The CHEMIKALS liquified gas terminal in Braniewo has seen its capacity double. We have also expanded our SPEDCONT container terminal, which currently handles approximately 35 percent of cargoes from China to Poland. Investments such as these are our response to growing market needs”, says Maciej Bachman, PEKAES President of the Management Board.

The location of the company’s subsequent terminal is no coincidence. Legnica is an important node on the logistic map of Dolny Śląsk.

“In delivering general cargo and intermodal services on such a scale we are continually seeking sites to bolster optimal operational efficiency. We want to be close to our customers in the region, providing a top quality service. The new branch in Legnica, entering into service today, significantly adds to our operational capacity and scale”, adds Maciej Bachman, PEKAES President of the Management Board.

Currently PEKAES operates one of the most effective general cargo networks in Poland: 19 dedicated domestic distribution terminals ensure cargoes flow smoothly both in Poland and across Europe.
