What distinguishes our country in the field of transport and freight forwarding?
One of the elements is that we are on the border of two transport zones – western (EU) and eastern (CIS) one. Poland acts as a link between them, which on one hand, is a great opportunity, but on the other hand, it involves a number of restrictions for carriers. It is widely known that Poland is one of the European leaders in the field of road and rail transport. It is estimated that the transport industry generates up to 5% of the Polish national income. No wonder that in our country the interest in the transport and logistics industry is growing every year.
The best proof of that is the Warsaw International Transport and Logistics Exhibition which was organised for the first time in 2013 and was a success. Interest in last year’s exhibition was so big (the exhibition was attended by over 60 exhibitors from 16 countries and visited by 2000 guests) that its organiser decided without hesitation to organise another edition of the event. Just like last year, it will be held in the Warsaw EXPO XXI hall and will last 3 days (5-7 November).
“Carriers traveling between the EU and the CIS countries face many difficulties. We decided to address this important issue during this year’s edition of the Trans Poland fair. Together with the Association of International Road Transport Carriers in Poland we have been working on organising a conference which will present the problem from many perspectives and allow for a comprehensive view of the current situation. We are planning to invite Customs Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance whose representatives could deliver a speech in which they would outline the strategy for the years 2014-2020, as well as present key solutions influencing the introduction of measures facilitating the operation of businesses. Another point on the conference agenda will be addressing the issue of TIR Carnets. Our plans also include a discussion on the involvement of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development in the construction of the A2 motorway running to the border with Belarus. We want the conference to also touch upon practical issues, hence the idea of addressing the issue of the viaTOLL system. We would like to do it comprehensively – from the perspective of the operator, system users and the legislator. The last point of the conference, according to our plans, is supposed to cover the subject of transportation between Poland and CIS member states. We are planning to prepare the presentation of this issue with the participation of Polish-Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and commercial establishments of the Embassy of the Russian Federation and the Embassy of Kazakhstan. Constructing the programme of special events in this way, we intend to make our exhibition a one-of-a-kind business platform joining the EU and CIS markets“, says Paweł Konowałek, Trans Poland Project Manager.
More than just a fair
Overview of the offers of the best companies in the transport and logistics industry is of course not the only attraction that awaits the visitors of the 2014 Trans Poland fair. Thanks to a series of special events – conferences and discussion panels – they will also follow the latest trends in the industry. This year, the subjects of special events will focus on the problem of safety in transport. This issue will be addressed, among others, in a discussion forum “Safe transport = Safe business” organised by the editorial team of the “TSL Business” monthly and the Partners.
During the Forum “2014 Euro TSL Manager – Safety and security of chemicals and hazardous goods in multimodal supply chains”, the subject of intermodal transport will be raised again, as it is very popular in the transport and logistics industry. The organiser of the conference will be the Transport, Logistics, Infrastructure Cluster and MDRK Trusted Advisers Group Sp. z o.o.
