CLP, your Pangea partner in Peru, is pleased to share relevant information on some developments that will have a positive impact on the Peru’s foreign trade activities. Below are some projects that are progressing in different jurisdictions where CLP has presence.
CHANCAY (New Megaport)
The Chancay Megaport project will receive the largest ships in the world and will become one of the main gateways from Asia to Peru. Liquid, bulk, roll-on, and mineral cargo will be transported through the port of Chancay. Due to the large size of the project, vessels of up to 18,000 TEU capacity, considered the largest vessels in the world, will be received.
CALLAO (South Pier Extension)
This project seeks to extend the length of the south pier by 400 meters, to reach 1050 meters. When the works are completed, the terminal’s service capacity, which is currently 1.5 million TEUs, will grow to 2.7 million. This will make it possible to receive up to three deep-draft vessels simultaneously and will contribute to boosting the country’s economy and foreign trade.
PISCO (New Route)
The shipping company MSC announced a new direct ship docking at the port of Pisco, located in the area of Ica, the exporting capital of Peruvian grapes. This announcement is excellent news for grape exporters, as the proximity of the port to the grape farms will save time and preserve the quality of the product from origin to destination.
