A workshop addressing ‘Intelligent Logistics through Partnering in the Supply Chain’ will be chaired by European freight forwarders association, CLECAT, and the European Shippers Council (ESC) at Intermodal Europe 2014, which takes place from 11-13 November at the Rotterdam AHOY.
On day two of Intermodal Europe 2014, Nicolette van der Jagt, Director General of CLECAT, and Joost Sitskoorn, Acting Secretary General of the ESC will lead the workshop, which will include several presentations from industry experts and a round table discussion.
Topics to be addressed throughout the morning will include the challenges that face users and operators through partnerships within the supply chain, as well as looking at some of the developments within the industry.
“There is a lot of innovation in this industry, which will be discussed, such as the development of intelligent cargo to improve efficiency and sustainability and the management of complex supply chains through intelligent IT systems” explains Nicolette van der Jagt. “We are also chairing these sessions in cooperation with iCARGO, a project that aims to advance the use of ICT (information and Communications Technology) in support of new logistics services.”
There will be demonstrations of great technology, sophisticated systems and data management as well as forecasting of future innovations and market trends and how these will affect operations in the future.
Established in 1958, CLECAT currently represents the interests of more than 19,000 companies in logistics, freight forwarding and customer services.
The European Shippers’ Council was founded in 1963. It represents the freight transport interests by all modes of transport of business in Europe, whether manufacturers, retailers or wholesalers – collectively referred to as shippers. ESC represents the freight transport interests of some 100,000 companies.
Intermodal Europe is a three day free-to-attend exhibition and conference for logistics professionals.
