SUB: POWER SHUTDOWN ON 01st & 02nd May 2014
Sirs,
All are hereby requested to note that Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) has planned to carry out electrical power shutdown on the 220 KV transmission route of JN Port from 0600 hrs of 01st May 2014 (Thursday) to 1800 hrs of 02nd May 2014 (Friday) for enabling them to install electrical overhead conductors on the new towers installed. During the above period there will be no power distribution in the whole of JN Port area including the Terminals operated by BOT operators and other establishments like PUB, JNPT CFS, JNPT Township, etc.
However, power supply to the below mentioned vital areas will be fed through Diesel Generator sets during the power shutdown period by MSETCL.
Reefer points at E-6 (A) sub-station, however no. of reefers shall be restricted to 120 nos. only, in view of the other loads to be fed from DG set.
Reefer points at E-4 & E-5 sub-stations, however no. of reefers shall be restricted to 20 & 25 nos. respectively, in view of the other loads to be fed from DG set.
Power supply to POC, Container Gate Complex, POC Canteen, ICD Building will be fed through the standby DG set, however, there can be interruptions after every 04 hrs. Interval, in case, any maintenance works arises in the DG sets.
Please note that:
During night hours, Power supply to the Main Container Berth Area, Shallow Water Berth Area, and Container yard of JNPT, Shift-in-charge office, employees’ rest rooms, and Yard canteen and to the area adjecent to Line 3 & 4 will e arranged through mobile DG set of JNPT.
Power supply to Admin Building Guest house will be arrenged through standby DG 0 set.
Power supply to the JNPT Hospital, MP Hall Fresh water pumping system, sewege water pumping system and illimination of street lights in certain locations of JNPT Township will be arranged through standby DG Sets.

The Container Gates will be closed (for all types of transactions) during the aforesaid period and will be opened on or after 1800 hrs of 02nd May 2014 (Friday) subsequent to restoration of power by MSETCL.
Whereas, Export Gates for Reefer Cargo Containers will be closed with effect from 0700 hrs on 28th April 2014 (Monday) as JNP Container Terminal would not be in a position to plug more than 165 numbers of refrigerated containers during the power shutdown period from 0600 hrs of 01st May 2014 (Thursday) to 1800 hrs of 02nd May 2014 (Friday).
In case of availability of reefer points (if the inventory of refrigerated containers inside the Terminal is less than 165), on case to case basis, the reefer cargo will be accepted by Planning Section in consultation with the concerned Lines/Agencies, if required.
Accordingly, all are requested to plan the movement of Reefer Containers during the aforesaid period.
