PEKAES, your Pangea partner in Poland and a leading logistics operator, adds to its network of eastern service. Daily connections from Błonie near Warsaw to Kiev began in May. From there goods are further distributed across Ukraine.
Both exports and imports of goods to and from Ukraine have steadily risen. Ukraine remains one of the key destinations for Polish foodstuffs. According to Central Statistical Office [GUS] data, a 20% increase in exports of agricultural and food products to Ukraine was recorded in the first half of 2018.
“Ukraine’s strategic location between the European Union and Russia, as well as significant growth potential and a positive outlook for the agricultural and food industry make this country an important trading partner for Poland. We always endeavour to react actively to changing trends and the market environment by expanding or adjusting available PEKAES services to cater for the business needs of our customers. And that is how the need to commence daily transport runs to Ukraine came to pass”, says Maciej Bachman, PEKAES President of the Management Board.
Within the scope of the new route the company delivers a top quality service for importers in Ukraine – with the PP document (colloquially referred to as the pepeszka) significantly reducing delivery times.
“Short delivery times and simplified procedures are unquestionable strengths of our service addressed to businesses in Ukraine. We are consistently expanding our ever more frequent network of international connections based on market research and close cooperation with customers. Further general cargo connections in Europe are in the pipeline”, adds Marek Tkaczyk, PEKAES International Network Director.
The new general cargo service entails a delivery to the end recipient in Ukraine on all weekdays – from Monday to Friday. Currently delivery time to Kiev and central Ukraine is between 3 and 4 business days and does not exceed 7 days outside of that area.
