Chemikals is a regional leader in operating and managing rail loading terminal on the Polish border with the Kaliningrad Oblast. It focuses mainly on logistical import fertilizers and high-quality coal. In turn, the Polish Spedcont the freight company – operator engaged in the rail and road freight . The company specializes in the transport of goods in containers (20ft and 40ft ) and semi trailers and other intermodal cargo units.
“The acquisitions of the two entities is an opportunity for us to abrupt development of intermodal services market and the introduction of new, high-margin products. The strong position of both Companies, their profitability, and their bases of customers, will allow the use of multiple synergies , as well as the strong output at a very perspective direction of the East. And with purchase Spedcontu gained a healthy , profitable company which develops our powers of container shipping services and intermodal. We see it as an opportunity for synergies and dynamic growth based on additional assets”, said Maciej Bachman, CEO PEKAES.
The consequence of the changes and effectively implemented strategy were good financial results in 2013. PEKAES earned the 11 million zł net profit, compared to a net loss of 13.4 million zł year earlier and increased revenue by almost 5% , to 548.6 million zł. During this time, the company has become very competitive, distinctive in quality and modernity in customer entity, with the result that competed and won a key tenders in the industry.

• Recently PEAKES has acquired a modern distribution center at Panattoni Park Poznań III, a modern distribution center with a total area of 55 000 m2, located 12 km from the city center, along the national expressway S11, a short distance from the junction of the A2, E30, S1. PEKAES also disposes of warehouse space in one of the Tri-City center – Panattoni Park Gdańsk.
• PEKAES has also recently changed the location of two branches – in Rzeszow and Bialystok. The decision to change the location of the two branches and increasing the rented space in various regions of the country is dictated by the growing demand for solutions offered by the company.
• Soon PEKAES will also change the location of the Tricity, which is an urban area consisting of three Polish cities: Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot. Moving to a mordern warehouse located in the Port of Gdynia, increasing its operational capabilities in conjunction with the maritime services.
• PEKAES has developend an innovative Client Zone, which includes modern and user-friendly IT solutions. This faciliates customers to quickly and correctly communicate with their logistics operator and to dispose of updated information about the services provided to them by PEKAES as well as have access online to the documents related to their handling by the operator. The new tool includes, among others: shipment tracking, e – invoicing system, submission and management of complaints and the ability to transmit separate accounts in the Customer Zone to individual employees on the client side.
