PANGEA partners from Malaysia, CENTRAL CONTINENT, and US, COLUMBIA LOGISTICS, have moved a 17 tons / 65 cbm Boiler Circulating Pump Motor & Accessories from New York to Port Klang in a 40′ HC.
Given the container shortage situation in USNYC, the carrier released a container that did not match the requirements from the shipper. In order to give full satisfaction to customer’s expectation, COLUMBIA forced the return of the unit and picked up a new empty container. Both partners, COLUMBIA and CENTRAL CONTINENT, as a professional gesture to support each other, shared the losses of the extra trip since customer’s priorities go first.
Each boiler pump was very heavy and required a lot of manpower for loading. At destination, the container was discharged with a hired crane and forklift. The cargo was then moved to CENTRAL CONTINENT‘s warehouse for disinfection/sanitisation, un-stuffing and finally delivering the goods by open truck to consignee. At last minute, the customer requested to do direct unloading at their appointed address (200km from port).
