 The expansion of the Suez Canal and the Panama Canal, together with the future Nicaraguan Canal, will have to compete with overland transport alternatives.London, December 14th, 2015 –Maritime transport infrastructures are sure to experience a revolution in the coming years, with the interoceanic canals taking centre stage. After the opening of the Suez Canal expansion in August of this year, it’s expected the remodelled Panama Canal will be operational by April 2016. Furthermore, the Nicaragua Interoceanic Grand Canal is scheduled to be completed in 2019 and will open a new route between the Atlantic and the Pacific.
