Going Green
Beating the heat, ALI take action in rehabilitation of Philippine forests through Tanim Kinabukasan 2016.
Tanim Kinabukasan is a tree-planting program organized by Bato Balani Foundation Inc. which aims to help preserving the nature while rekindling the spirit of volunteerism among First Asia Network, where ALI is part of. Volunteers gathered at Mt. Manabu, Sto. Tomas, Batangas last May 28, 2016 to revitalize the 3-hectare site through planting of 500 narra seedlings. Among the group is ALI President and Managing Director, Mr. Alfonso L. Santiago who led the ALI team.
Promoting Better Education
Carrying broomsticks and paintbrushes, ALI participated in the grand kickoff of NCR Brigada Eskwela 2016 held at Paranaque National High School last May 30. It was participated by students, parents and volunteers who take part in cleaning and fixing different areas of the school. This is an annual event that aims to improve the quality of education in the Philippines by preparing the campus before the classes begin. It encourages all education stakeholders and partners to participate and contribute their time, effort and resources to the school maintenance activity to ensure that all public school facilities are ready for the school opening this June 2016. This year also marks the Philippines’ shift to the K to 12 program.
Building Stronger Relationships
In part of ALI’s effort in uniting its network, AsiaFreight conducted a team building held at Casa San Pablo last June 18-19. The event was also joined by ALI’s affiliate company, Afreight. The event includes fun games and activities that develop core values like unity, cooperation, competency and consistency.
A Prepared and Alert Community
Lastly, ALI take part in the largest metro-wide earthquake drill, the Metro Manila Shake Drill 2016. The drill was participated by different companies and organizations all over Metro Manila. This is an annual event that aims to prepare everyone in case of disasters like earthquake and fire. The drill was led by the company’s Security and Safety Committee.
