Our company is dedicated to transportation by air, sea and tailor made transport solutions. Geocargo keeps in constant improvement, a Quality Management System according to standard NP EN ISO 9001:2008. GEOCARGO is PRESIDENT of the boArd of directors of APAT - PORTUGUESE FREIGHT FORWARD ASSOCIATION (www.apat.pt) a BRIEF HISTORY: Geocargo began operations in 1995 exclusively dedicated to Air Cargo, being a member of CASS / IATA since then. and became a licensed Freight Forwarder in 1997. Currently Geocargo operates the license 572/2001 valid until 01/02/2016. Also in 1997 we changed our location to Lisbon Airport in order to be closer to our usual places of intervention: The Customs Cargo Terminal and Lisbon Airport. In 2000 we entered as full members of the GTO - Global Transport Organization, Another important fact which occurred in 2000 was the opening of our Maritime cargo department so we begin the operation of a market that, though not within the company's experience, quickly proved to be a winning bet. In 2001 we started the process and obtained certification from IATA, our company has obtained the IATA Cargo Agent certification. In 2003 new office move to location outside the airport and next to Lisbon port 2004 we signed with IATA the "Intermediary Agreement" under the European Air Cargo Program. The year 2006 was important at the institutional level with the election of Geocargo - Forwarding Ltd for Vice President of the Board of APAT - Freight Forwarders Association of Portugal. Later this year also represented a step forward in the evolution of Geocargo, the first presence on the WWW by publishing the address of the page https://www.geocargo.pt. In 2007 we obtained the certification in the ISO 9001 , until today kept in constant improvement, a Quality Management System according to standard NP EN ISO 9001:2008. In 2008 we moved again into a larger office with indoor warehouse, has a result and in route with our growth strategy. We are Airfreight Regulated Agent, registered at Portuguese Aviation Authority (INAC) and currently manage a security program. In 2010 Geocargo started a project related with the airfreight of baggage and created www.e-bagagem.com (Geocargo's trade mark), which became live in the end of 2011. IN 2012/2013 we consolidated our position in the freight forwarder market, and invested in new IT that allows us today to be e-freight capable. We have signed iata multilateral e-awb agreement. 2014 became IPATA members in line with the strategy to become live animals leading company in Portugal. also we registered a trademark "geopets".
