TRACOSA (Spain), the new year marks their 50th anniversary
Next year TRACOSA, your Pangea partner in Spain, will celebrate its 50th anniversary and we would like to share their story with all of you.
It was 1972 when Mr. Pedro Merenciano, Mrs. Francisca Sabaté and Mr. Pepe Moreno, together with a group of professionals from the sector, founded the company TRAMITES ADUANEROS Y COMERCIALES SA, which later gave rise to TRACOSA ADUANAS SA.
At that time Customs Agents and Freight Forwarders were more delimited and differentiated figures. TRACOSA was born exclusively as a customs agent and also began its career specializing in dispatching Freight Forwarders, some of which are still clients of the company today.
Entry of Spain into the European Union
The year 1993 arrived and the entry of Spain into the European Union brought with it a drastic readjustment in our sector, dropping more than 70% of customs activity as customs declarations were not necessary with a large part of Europe.
From that moment, TRACOSA began a process of transformation and evolution that was fully consolidated in 2000, when, in addition to renewing the company’s management, there were changes in the shareholding and TRACOSA set course for the new millennium with an ambitious Strategic Plan to position themselves as a Freight Forwarder and Customs Representative of reference in the sector.
From TRACOSA to GRUPO TRACOSA
Accustomed to going through difficult times, to face difficult challenges or to bet on different causes, in the midst of the Covid epidemic they gave life to the TRACOSA GROUP, with the incorporation of their sister company Bas & Josa SA, who contributes with more than one hundred years of existence and a wide professional team that joins to continue growing.
Thus the group comes to 2021 with a clear leadership position among the companies in the sector, with an average growth of more than 15% per year in the last 20 years, with years of growth of more than 50%, and with a new Strategic Plan to become among the top 25 freight forwarding companies in Spain.
At their 50 years they are more fit than ever, but also with more resources, more experience, more vision and more enthusiasm.
And all this is done by FULFILLING
If it has to be defined, we could say that TRACOSA fulfils years fulfils commitments. They are fulfilling these first 50 years because they have been fulfilling from day one.
Fulfilling with suppliers: shipping companies, airlines, carriers, warehouses, insurers and many others, sometimes undervalued, but key elements for any business project.
Fulfilling with the authorities, tax, labor, social, but especially with CUSTOMS, before whom they represent their clients for a fair and correct treatment at the lowest legally possible cost. Your trust and support over the years has been crucial to their success.
Fulfilling with their staff, who more than employees are partners and family. Without the involvement and personal dedication of each one of them, without the passion and desire that they transmit and put forth, this project would not be the same, it would not have gotten this far.
Fulfilling with society, from their commitment to the environment, in aid to cultural, associative or charitable projects, giving back to society part of what they receive from it.
Fulfilling with the people who have trusted them the most: Their clients
Finally fulfilling with their CUSTOMERS who are the ones who have allowed and motivated them to get here and continue dreaming. Thank you for allowing TRACOSA GROUP to be close to you, to be able to learn and grow together with each of your challenges and projects.
