PEKAES (Poland) increases distribution terminals space

PEKAES, your Pangea partner in Poland and a leading provider of transportation and logistics services, announced increasing the terminal capacities in the Kraków and Kielce branches. The Group’s new investments in network facilities will facilitate handling of an even larger groupage volume stream. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, PEKAES has been operating according to plan and announces further growth of the groupage network in Poland and abroad.

“Following the development plans adopted prior to the pandemic, PEAKES Group increased terminal capacities of facilities located in the Kraków and Kielce branches. With the Group’s new investments, we can accept an even greater volume of goods, thus flexibly adapting to the needs of our customers, whose interest in transportation services, after a temporary downtime related to the epidemic situation, is gradually increasing”, says Sławomir Szema, PEKAES Domestic Network Director.

The PEKAES Małopolska Branch is located near the bypass road of Kraków. The modern class A distribution terminal located on its premises has been upgraded by several new docks and its area has expanded by more than 1,000m2 making it now 3,400m2. The terminal located in the Kielce branch increased its size by another 1000 m2 and has four extra docks. Today, the terminal’s capacity in this location is over 3,000 m2 with 30 docks available to customers.

“Expanding our groupage network terminals we do not only think about increasing their operational capacity, but also to provide even more comfortable and safe working conditions for our Employees and Carriers, a vital element during the pandemic that our country is facing”, adds Sławomir Szema, PEKAES Domestic Network Director.

PEKAES follows an adopted strategic management of business development. At the beginning of the year, we opened the 20th PEKAES branch in Mińsk Mazowiecki. We have also increased warehouse space for contract logistics in Mazowsze region, and in April our customers were able to enjoy a new terminal in Lublin, the most modern LTL cargo terminal of the group up to date.

Maciej Bachman, President of the Management Board of PEKAES declares there will be further infrastructure investments of the group in the distribution and transportation areas.
